How to apply

Please download and complete the application form below. Applications must be emailed to volunteers@ccws.org.au

Please note: due to the limited number of spaces in our program we cannot guarantee requested dates.  Work experience programs are not available during the NSW school holidays. Due to the popularity of our work experience program, we may be fully booked up to 12 months in advance.

Successful applicants for the work experience program will receive hands-on practice working in various areas of Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary.

During your placement, you will have the opportunity to learn about the effort and dedication required to care for our marine animals behind the scenes. This will involve tasks such as preparing animal diets in our fish kitchen, observing husbandry training sessions, as well as a lot of cleaning.

Your work experience will provide you with a glimpse into the life of an animal trainer, including experience with each shift rotation. Every shift has specific responsibilities, such as learning and assisting in rehabilitating our rescued sea turtles, helping trainers with feeding sessions, daily cleaning duties, and more!

The work experience placement runs for four days, Monday to Thursday, from 8.30 am to 3.45pm with a one-hour lunch break.
