Conservation & Rescue

Animals

Meet the friendliest family on earth. Without a doubt the main attraction at Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary are our seals and dolphins, supported by our penguins, turtles, fish, and peacocks. Throughout your visit you will meet and enjoy hands-on experiences to connect with our Sanctuary family.

Conservation

At Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, we believe that experiences help visitors discover more about their local wildlife, both marine and terrestrial, and the environmental issues that we all face.

Rehabilitation

We’re passionate about our local marine and terrestrial life and we’ve always focussed on rehabilitation. Unfortunately, with the growing rate of ocean plastics and pollution, more and more marine animals are brought to us for our help.

Education

The Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary offers engaging learning experiences for school students of all ages. We give students unique, close-up interactions with marine animals and hone their observation skills as part of their conservation journey, and connect students with traditional Gumbaynggirr culture and traditions through dreamtime stories about our animals.

Rescue

Our goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and release the hundreds of marine mammals and birds local which come to the Sanctuary. This includes seals, turtles, shearwaters, and so much more, rescued from Lennox Head in the north to Port Macquarie in the south. Find out more about our rescue programs, and how you can get involved.

Volunteering

Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is pleased to offer work experience and student placement opportunities to individuals who wish to gain practical knowledge working with animals. You must share our passion for the conservation of animals, particularly marine mammals, and their environment.

Our Supporters

Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is a not-for-profit organisation, which receives no ongoing government support. So we rely on people like you to support us by visiting or donating.

We are also proud to be supported by a number of local businesses, who have generously donated to us.

The Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary acknowledges the Gumbaynggirr people, traditional custodians of this land. We pay respect to the Elders, both past and present, of the Gumbaynggirr Nation and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
