Guest Code of Conduct

Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary - Guest Code of Conduct for After-Hours Events

By attending any after-hours events at Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary (CCWS), you agree to the following code of conduct to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, staff, and animals:

1. Animal Welfare

  • The protection and care of our animals is our primary concern. Any behavior that threatens the welfare of the animals, including but not limited to attempted harm, intimidation, or improper handling, will result in immediate removal from the event and the Sanctuary.
  • Do not touch or approach any animal without the prior consent of authorized Sanctuary staff.
  • Guests must not cross barriers or enter restricted areas. These areas are off-limits for the safety of both guests and animals.

2. Respectful Behavior

  • Guests are expected to treat all other attendees, staff, and volunteers with respect. Any aggressive, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior (including offensive language or actions) will not be tolerated and may lead to removal from the event.
  • Please respect the privacy of others, especially children. Do not take photos or videos of others without their permission.

3. Safety and Health Compliance

  • For your safety, please adhere to all health and safety guidelines outlined by the Sanctuary or relevant authorities. This includes, but is not limited to, following any COVID-19 restrictions, mask requirements, or hygiene practices in place at the time of the event.
  • Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Guests are required to wear shoes for safety reasons while on the Sanctuary grounds.
  • Due to the nature of the Sanctuary, you may get splashed or wet during the event. Please come prepared.

4. Alcohol and Drug Policy

  • CCWS operates under a valid liquor license, and alcohol may only be consumed in designated areas and in accordance with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines.
  • Consumption of drugs or alcohol that impairs your ability to function is prohibited. If staff suspects that a guest is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they may be asked to leave the event.

5. Prohibited Items

  • No glassware, sharp objects, or other hazardous items may be brought onto the premises.
  • Guests are not permitted to bring their own food, beverages (other than water), or novelty items (e.g., balloons, noisemakers) unless specified for the event.

6. Photography and Media Use

  • Photography, video recording, and sound recording are allowed for personal use only. Any media used for commercial purposes without written consent from CCWS is prohibited.
  • Please be considerate of others and refrain from taking photos or videos of individuals, especially children, without prior permission.
  • CCWS reserves the right to take photos and videos during the event for promotional purposes. By attending the event, you consent to the use of your image in such materials.

7. Smoking and Vaping

  • Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is only permitted in designated smoking areas within the Sanctuary.
  • Guests are not allowed to consume food or beverages in or around designated smoking areas in compliance with public health regulations.

8. Parking and Vehicles

  • Vehicles are parked at your own risk. CCWS is not responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or personal property.
  • Please follow parking regulations and park in designated areas only.

9. Compliance with Staff Instructions

  • Guests are required to comply with all instructions from CCWS staff during the event. This includes safety procedures and any special requests made for the well-being of animals or guests.
  • Failure to follow instructions may result in immediate removal from the event.

10. Liability and Damages

  • By entering the Sanctuary grounds, you agree that CCWS is not liable for any personal injury or damage to property.
  • Guests may be held financially responsible for any damages caused to CCWS property or equipment during the event.

11. Eviction

  • CCWS reserves the right to refuse entry or evict any guest who fails to follow these guidelines or engages in behavior that is disruptive or illegal. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
